Infectious Exposure Guidelines
This guideline is designed to promote consistency among COTS partner prehospital and hospital providers in the treatment and follow-up of first responders who experience occupational exposures. It applies to incidents involving EMS, fire, law enforcement, funeral directors, and other first responder personnel. Processes managed through private occupational health clinics or hospital employee health services functioning under contractual agreements for first responder exposures are outside the scope of this guideline.
